After living in a tiny dorm in college and a terrace-less apartment for a total of eight years, the fact that our house had a small porch and yard was a major bonus. The little outdoor deck was simple, a little worn out by weather and time, but none of that mattered, because I had […]
Let me be honest for a sec, here. Between winter and Noah’s birth, Liam watched way more television than I’m comfortable with in the past few months. But, to be perfectly honest, it’s really all about survival the first three months. All moms know that. And that’s what we did… Survived. Now that spring is […]
Who said nesting was just a pregnancy thing? I’ve been working hard on our bedroom, patio, and new vegetable garden (!!!) in the past few weeks and can’t wait to show you what it all looks like. Although I had recently made some small changes to our bedroom (while I was actually nesting before baby), […]
I never thought I’d say this… but, at five weeks old, our son Noah joined the Sleeping Through the Night club. I can’t help but think the universe felt bad for us after what we went through with Liam… So bad that it decided we deserved a break with this second baby. Most nights, Liam […]
Our little guy has been the best sleeper. I’m literally shocked. Recently, he’s been sleeping from 6:30pm to 5:30am, nurses for 10 minutes, then goes back down until 8:30am! Tonight is actually his first night in his own room. It’s bittersweet – in a way I’m happy to get our bedroom back, but in another, […]
I know, I know… I’ve been terrible at staying in touch lately. But with a two month old and a feral two and a half year old who hasn’t been outside in days, can you really blame me? I do have a few posts in mind for you mamas, so stay tuned. There’s some good […]
I don’t know about you, but, for me, it is essential for my home to be organized. If I live amongst clutter, my mind is cluttered, too. I cannot see clearly unless my home is clear of the little messes. In January, I started a little renovation project (yes, I was full blown nesting!) and […]
Update: These past couple of weeks (five, to be exact), all I’ve been doing is prioritizing. In other words, all I’ve been doing is cuddling with my little guy. He’s all about skin to skin and eating (and, by that, I mean every hour or two during the day), so my routine has pretty much […]
I was dead set on having a natural birth with my first baby, Liam. I wanted the sense of empowerment and accomplishment that came with a drug-free birth, and was very confident that I could do it. I watched positive birth videos on Youtube, took a childbirth class with a focus on breathing and coping […]
I’m almost full term (37.5 weeks!) and it’s checklist time. I have this uncontrollable urge to renovate, clean, organize, and nest, despite everyone telling me to lie down and stop moving so much! But, like I said, it’s uncontrollable. I realized that although there are some basic things we know we have to get done […]
One day, out of sheer madness, we decided to do it. You know, the whole stuck-at-home-for-three-days potty training method. Cabin fever, and all. We did it. And believe it or not, those three days turned into five. We didn’t leave the house for five days. And, in the end, it was the best decision ever. When […]
You want to know something? I’m not one of those people who makes a list of resolutions every year. I never vow to go to the gym 4-5 times per week, cut out gluten from my diet, or spend at least every other Sunday with family. I just never believed in the idea of coming […]
Need a last minute gift for a cousin you completely forgot about? A colleague who left a little something on your desk and now you feel super guilty you didn’t return the favor? Do you just want to stun your girlfriends with some homemade gifts? This is the post for you! These DIY gifts are […]
Hi Mamas! I’m finally in the home stretch (6 and a half weeks to go!) and it’s starting to really hit me that I’m about to give birth. That I’m about to go without sleep for weeks on end and experience bad latches, chapped nipples, and spit up again. The postpartum/newborn stage is a tough […]
I’m so excited, Mamas: I’m finally done with holiday shopping. Hallelujah! If there’s one thing I learned, it’s that you should always start your Christmas shopping early. Did I learn this last year, and also the year before?Yes. I did. But that’s beside the point. I decided to compile a list of some of my […]
I don’t know about you mamas, but I’m not a big winter gal. I love the magic of the holidays, but as soon as December is over, I’m miserable… I hate the cold and snow! Although I haven’t been a fan of this cold weather creeping up, I’ve been having a blast making the holidays […]
Hey Mamas! I have a confession to make… I’ve been in the holiday spirit for months now. (As in, before Halloween…) Isn’t that crazy? And to think I was that girl who didn’t even put up a Christmas tree just two years ago. Oh, how times have changed! Motherhood really does make you a whole new […]
When I found out I was expecting a second boy, many things went through my mind (Oh my god, my poor house! was one of them, yes.) But despite the craziness bound to happen in our home with two rowdy boys under the age of three, I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of Liam […]
Pregnancy should be, in my opinion, a time to detox. A time to pick and choose what you put in and on your body very, very wisely. You’re responsible for not just your health, but also your little one’s, and that should be motivation enough to read labels meticulously and search for clean ingredients. I […]
