To celebrate, here are three of Liam’s favorite things so far (besides the boob, of course!) It’s been so much fun getting to know our little guy this week. He’s definitely a mellow little dude… as long as he gets his milk every 2-3 hours!

Although we were a little hesitant at first to introduce Liam to pacifiers/soothies while breastfeeding, we were so glad to get our pediatrician’s approval this week (they are only a concern for premature babies or babies who have trouble latching onto the breast.) Not only do pacifiers/soothies reduce the risk of SIDS in newborn babies, they are also a miracle “drug” when nothing else seems to work.

Liam loves to suckle on them in his bassinet and car seat when he can’t seem to fall asleep. Although his favorite one is the blue bear (pictured), he also has the brown monkey 🙂

When the Wubbanubs don’t do the trick and Liam is really upset, he loves to be rocked on the fitness ball.

Now, I’m not sure if it’s because I overused the fitness ball during my pregnancy and he recognizes the up and down motion, but he falls asleep almost instantly when rocked on it: proof pictured above.

One of our friends bought us the Rock n’ Play for Liam’s baby shower. We were thinking about also buying the 4Moms Mamaroo but hesitated because of its steep price. In the end, we decided to wait and see if Liam liked this one first.

We were right… he loves it!
It has multiple speeds and songs available and is basically just a cozy hamac for babies. Now if only they made the same one for new mommies… Naptime, anyone?
